BECAUSE UNDERMINING YOUR OWN GOVERNMENT SOMETIMES DOESN'T SATISFY COMPLETELY:
Carter attacks Blair's Iraq role (BBC, 5/19/07)
Former US President Jimmy Carter has criticised outgoing British Prime Minister Tony Blair for his "blind" support of the war in Iraq.Mr Carter told the BBC Mr Blair's backing for US President George W Bush had been "apparently subservient".
He said the UK's "almost undeviating" support for "the ill-advised policies of President Bush in Iraq have been a major tragedy for the world".
His comments came as Mr Blair paid what is likely to be his last visit to Iraq.
If only Jimmy Carter and James Callaghan had been in power on 9-11...the buildings would still be smoking.... Posted by Orrin Judd at May 19, 2007 6:51 AM
And those buildings wouldn't be the only ones.
Posted by: ratbert at May 19, 2007 7:50 AMWhat a loser! He's still bitter that Reagan cleaned his clock.
Posted by: o at May 19, 2007 9:39 AMHe's bitter that the American people cleaned his clock, we didn't see his greatness.
I thought I read that Ronnie died on the day the Jimmy Carter sub was supposed to be commissioned.
Posted by: Sandy P at May 19, 2007 2:43 PMI can still remember thinking he was maybe a bad president, but an okay guy. Gee, how quaint.
Posted by: RC at May 19, 2007 6:30 PMCarter was totally ineffective as president. He was at best fairly honest. Somehow when I see him in the news I think of what Jack Kennedy once said. Every mother want's their son to be president but not to have anything to do with politics. Carter did poorly in both. At the very onset of his administration the protocols of the office deteriorated, and he was clueless, both foreign and domestically.

Carter is a bitter, petty man who has had a giant chip on his shoulder since his Navy days. Sandy is right - his bile today is not so much directed at Reagan but at America itself.
It is time for a prominent Dem to just call him an anti-Semite and watch the fur fly.
Posted by: jim hamlen at May 19, 2007 8:39 PMWhat a bitter, blithering idiot! (Believe me, it takes a lot for me to write so disrespectfully of an older adult who's a former President and a professed man of faith, but Carter makes it easy.)
Posted by: Dave W at May 20, 2007 12:20 AMJimmy Carter is a moral monster - and he keeps getting worse. If he were ever rebuked by Bush, Lieberman, or a prominent Israeli (like Bibi), just watch for what would spew out of his mouth next.
Posted by: ratbert at May 20, 2007 10:13 AMScrappleface has a column out today where he claims George W. calls Carter the best ex-President the US has ever had. The proof is that unemployment is now 4.6%, interests are very low, money from taxes is as high as it's ever been while tax rates are extremely low, etc. And all this while Jimma is ex-President Carter.
VERY FUNNY!
