'Uninspiring and clueless' (EDDIE BARNES, 4/01/07, The Scotsman)

LABOUR chiefs have admitted they are set to lose the Scottish election, with a damning self-assessment of their "uninspiring" election campaign.

In a series of frank comments, several leading members of the Scottish Labour team acknowledge that their bid to see off the resurgent SNP prior to the May 3 election is in deep trouble.

They complain that the public is "p***ed off" with them and determined to punish the party, whatever they do to try to turn things around.

After eight years in government at Holyrood, and 10 years at Westminster, many in Labour are preparing for opposition in Edinburgh, believing voters have decided that they have had their turn and now want the SNP to take charge.

The admissions come as a new poll, made public today, shows the SNP's lead over Labour has grown.

To make it easier on those of us with fading grey matter, can we review which "countries" still are.

America. To be a country rather than a nation requires a universalist Founding ethos.

Correction: which nations still are?

Nations are ethnic in nature and so will keep devolving into their constituent parts. The nation is an affect of Rationalism/Darwinism.
