MOVE OVER, PEE-WEE:
Time for A Bargain On the War (David S. Broder, April 10, 2007, Washington Post)
In the continuing battle between the Democratic Congress and the Bush administration over policy in Iraq, logic is on the Democrats' side, but the crucial political leverage belongs to the president. It behooves the realists in both camps to recognize what the troops and the country have at stake -- and negotiate a compromise.
Even for a self-absorbed Beltway pundit it's startling who he leaves out of this proposal, which essentially calls for negotiating with himself. Posted by Orrin Judd at April 10, 2007 10:51 AM
logic is on the Democrats' side
A loaded statement. What logic? Logic to capitulate? Logic to defuse the war before the 2008 election because the Dems know they could not win while we are at war. Logic to ban "war on terror", so that they can concentrate on their concern on global warming, the purpose of which is to pass laws to control us. They are afraid to fight, so they want to divert our attentions to a hyped issue. I believe most people rather die from global warming in 40 years than die from a terrorist attack now.

And he is only going to consider the minority in Congress if it is the Democrats.
