Why? We might want to drop a bomb on them in the future. Now if they were a real ally and had troops hunting down Bin Laden and getting blown up in Iraq, it would be a different story.
Then again why have a shield for "Europe". Why not just those countries that are actually doing something for us or with us. Poland, Czech Republic etc (though actually they are mostly just talk) India perhaps.
Otherwise we're being played like a sucker. If we are truly the only world power, then the new policy should be you are with or you are against us.
