Two years ago, my family took an inter-island cruise in Hawaii. There was a large tour group from New York City which made a bee-line for the Walmart in every port of call. The best moment was when a matronly New Yorker was considering a helicopter tour as a shore excursion and asked in fluent Brooklynese, "Does the helicopter stop at Walmart?"

We had a similar experience at the Grand Canyon. A big caddie pulls up with two hoods in front seat and two blondes in the back. The guys get out and take look, when the ladies ask if worth getting out of the car, they say nah and off the go presumably to Las Vegas.
