Gen. Musharraf had proposed fencing and mining the border under Western pressure to do more to prevent Taliban and al-Qaeda militants from using Pakistan's wild borderlands as a base for operations against Afghan and foreign troops on the other side.

The border's about 1700 miles long. They're going to need a lot of fence.

I read that headline as "IRRADIATION WOULD OBVIATE THE NEED FOR FRANCE" and thought, "Who 'needs' France, anyhow?" This day is starting way too early...

Pervez will get plenty of Mexicans in Ariz, Cal, Texas, and Az willing to help build that fence.

Make it a test range, for just about anything. Start a rumor that all the goats and sheep there are descended from an Israeli herd. Or that all the fruit and vegetables came from plants imported from a kibbutz.

Or just build a few huge bunkers with electric fences and put old helicopters on top, but nothing inside. Let them be flypaper targets - when swarmed, drop the daisy-cutters.
