FLIPPING THE RIGHT THE BIRD:

A Fundraiser from Rudy's Past (Ben Smith, 2/01/07, The Politico)

Cristyne L. Nicholas will be hosting a campaign fundraiser for her former boss, Rudy Giuliani, according to sources familiar with the planned event.

Nicholas is the former Cristyne Lategano, familiar to readers of the New York tabloids (and avid viewers of the USA Network) as Rudy's former communications director and the "former staffer" alleged by Giuliani's ex-wife to have had an affair with the Mayor. (Giuliani and Nicolas always denied the allegation.)

Maybe he's decided to run for mayor of San Francisco instead.

Now, now, we can't judge on someone's personal life, but I can judge on changing the Constitution.

OJ, if enough voters look at Giuliani and react similarly to the way they did towards Clinton, he will win easily.

"Now there's somebody who knows how to talk and I know he's tough and he seems pretty suave, too".

You are counting on prissiness to sink Rudy. Given the current state of affairs in the Senate, I don't think Republican primary voters are going to be swayed by prissiness. You will note that McCain tap-danced away from the failure crowd with his own resolution. He knows he cannot say surge on Monday and then slam Petraeus on Tuesday, not if he wants to be President.

But, as VDH wrote yesterday, it now appears that the 2008 election will turn on how the battlefied goes over the next few months. Watch for the media to start with "Who Lost Iraq" about November of this year.

Iraq won't be an issue by February '08.
