AND IT DIDN'T EVEN TAKE A HUNDRED HOURS:
Democratic voters growing impatient with Congress (Margaret Talev, Renee Schoof and Steven Thomma, 2/10/07, McClatchy Newspapers)
In Washington, Democrats are blaming Republicans for the Senate's failure so far to vote on a resolution opposing a troop increase in Iraq. But in the heartland, some voters say such excuses no longer are good enough.
Having banked on the promise that Democrats would force a change of course in Iraq if they won control of Congress, some of the people who helped the Democrats get there are growing impatient.
They're frustrated that Democrats sank so much energy into a nonbinding resolution then dropped the bipartisan plan of Sens. John Warner, R-Va., and Carl Levin, D-Mich., like a hot potato when Republican leaders who support President Bush maneuvered them into a corner. [...]
"The people spoke pretty clearly in November, and nothing's happened," said Bill Fahrenwald, a marketer from Blue Island, Ill., a Chicago suburb. "It's pretty discouraging."
"They're being overly cautious, to the point of really not accomplishing anything," said Lisa Rone, a psychiatrist from Oak Park, Ill. "I thought the Democrats would be much more clear about that vote and be much more active."
Time to get rid of the do-nothing Democrats. Posted by Orrin Judd at February 10, 2007 12:25 PM
Delicious conundrum. The Rabid Right is unhappy with the Republicans, the Loony Left is unhappy with the Democrats.
Posted by: sam at February 10, 2007 1:08 PMIt seems that whatever the American voter wants is totally ignored in Washington, what's really strange is that no action is being taken to IMPEACH this lying President, WHY? Look what they try to impeach //Clinton over, nothing close to what the idiot in office now has done, lying murdering our troops to support his war, when is this so-called Congress that we elected going to wake up and do what right.

Yap yap yap. Foam foam foam.
Good luck with all that.
Posted by: Andrew X at February 10, 2007 3:00 PMRLD: Instead of the mindless tripe that you are mouthing, get some English lessons. Time better spent. For you knowledge, US troops will be in Iraq on Jan 20 2009 (when GW Bush leaves office), on Jan 20 2013 (when McCain leaves office), and on Jan 20 2021 (when Jeb leaves office). Get used to it, for your mental health's sake. Congress ain't gonna do anything.
Posted by: sam at February 10, 2007 3:09 PMWhat the American voter wants? Approx 40,000 votes? That's why there's stalemate.
The southern congresscritters have to hang together or they'll hang separately. They won running to the right of the pubbies.

You have only yourself and your fellow "reality based community" to blame. Your boys (and girls) are doing "what's right", at least how they see it. They are making sure they get all the perks and petty power they've been denied for twelve years, while making sure they do what they think will maintain those privlieges in the coming years. The funny part is, all of you screamers didn't see this coming even though you fought to put in power the same set of clowns who got tossed out by the GOP in '94. The least you people on the Left could have done is purged them and installed a few of your won during that time.
This Congress carried in too few Democrats to effect anything.
