RIGHT WING WELFARE QUEENS:

Border fence may cost $60B: Land acquisition, upkeep increasing proposal's price (Lisa Friedman, 01/01/2007, Inland Daily Bulletin)

A hotly disputed fence on the U.S.-Mexico border will cost more than $60 billion - nearly 10 times more than original estimates - with billions more needed for land acquisition and maintenance, according to a new government study.

It's only pork if the other guy wants it.

More to the point, it's only pork when the other guy is someone you don't like.

Of course you correct about the "fence" being a sham. The market demand for peons to take the place of the million of babies throwns into the dumpsters since Roe v. Wade is not going to disappear because entry is made a little less convenient.

We could alter the demand by increasing the cost of illegal peon labor to above the cost of legal domestic labor, as by biometric identification coupled with draconic enforcement against employers.

This is not going to happen, as the entire system is rooted in the twin evils of abortion and exploitation of the immigrants.

You can neither alter the demand of our economy for employees nor the demand of the immigrants for the American Dream.
