STATE DEPARTMENT EXPERT, HE LAUGHED:

Out of step: Is anything left of the 'special relationship' on which Tony Blair staked his legacy? (Geoffrey Wheatcroft, December 3, 2006, Boston Globe)

"How special is the United States-United Kingdom relationship after Iraq?" asked veteran State Department analyst Kendall Myers, an expert on US-British relations. His answer was not cheering for Tony Blair.

Perhaps the only topic the bureaucrats at State and Intelligence understand less than foreign nations is their own country. The reality that eludes Realists is that were Prime Minister Cameron to tell President Hillary Clinton that now was England's hour of need, she'd trip over herself coming to his aid.
