Conservative support for a high speed rail project strengthened yesterday, with the party commissioning a detailed study into the cost of building a network linking major cities across the country.

(It's also pretty funny to see someone who decries big gov't transportation programs that serve millions of people get all sweaty and giddy over a big gov't transportation program STUDY.)

All transport is always a government boondoggle. Trains serve social ends. Cars are atomizing.
