WE HAVE A WINNER:
Anybody want to try guessing the score to the Oklahoma-Nebraska football game today? The winner is whoever comes closest to the margin of victory without going over, in addition to correctly picking the victor. All valid entries must be made by kickoff time. The winner receives a free book.
Tiebreakers will be determined by a complicated formula involving a numerical value attached to the contestant's preferred shade of red (although, if that doesn't work out, I'll just use the combined total score).
Prognosticate away.

If I win, I'll drive to a bookstore and present myself with a prize.

Posted by: Mike Morley at December 2, 2006 7:52 AMSay, that huge snowstorm forming in the Midwest won't be disgorging snow at gametime, will it?
Posted by: Bruce Cleaver at December 2, 2006 7:53 AM27 Oklahoma, 20 Nebraska.
Where'd these Nebraska fans come from?
Boomer Sooner.
Posted by: James at December 2, 2006 7:54 AM24-10 Huskers.
Sooners couldn't get it done at home to UT, won't get it down at neutral site vs. the Huskers.
Posted by: Jim in Chicago at December 2, 2006 10:05 AMMorley took my spread so I'll go with Oklahoma 27 and Nebraska 23 (rather than 24). My fave shade of red is "Fire Engine."

In the blowing 20 degree weather the Huskers discover why it's the "West Coast" offense.

Not according to the weather forecasters -- Nothing but freezing cold for the team from further south and a mild wind that shouldn't greatly affect anybody's passing game. And the 80-plus percent of the stadium in Nebraska red will be freezing and ought to be moving around a lot to keep warm. Which means noise, lots of it.

You submitted two choices, we can only use one. If you don't reply to this by kickoff time, I'll go with the first one.
