The Right in conjunction with the "can't we all get along" mushy middle who, not liking the GOP performance on their issue of choice (e.g., "pork" or national security), handed control of Congress to a party even less likely to be well behaved or do a better job.
"Without stupidity, the GOP wouldn't have any leaders, and the Dems wouldn't have any voters." Whoever said that, pretty much nails this years election results.
