YET MS MERKEL THINKS A GERMAN COMPANY SHOULD DUMP MONEY INTO AIRBUS?:
Air Berlin orders 60 Boeing jets (AP, Nov 28, 2006)
German budget carrier Air Berlin said Tuesday it is ordering 60 new Boeing 737 jets as it works to secure its future growth.Posted by Orrin Judd at November 28, 2006 11:43 AM
Can Boeing handle all these orders? I wonder that they wouldn't start building in Europe perhaps take over the Airbus plant, kick out the employees and start hiring American style.
Wouldn't that be a kick in the head!
erp:
Boeing already "outsources" a great deal of work (controls, some structural stuff, electronics, etc.) to firms in Japan, China, Italy, and elsewhere. The 737 is the most successful airplane ever built and will keep going and going and going......
As to the thought that Boeing might appropriate some abandoned Airbus factories, well - I can see Chirac now, standing at the door to the hanger, pitchfork in hand. But I suspect they would choose Mexico or Brazil (sorry, OJ) first.
