International money-manager and philanthropist George Soros hitherto has not been known as overly concerned with the fate of the Jewish state. But this now has changed — though in a somewhat perverse fashion.As noted in The New York Sun, the Financial Times, and other news outlets, Mr. Soros is considering giving his support to a new initiative for an "influential alternative" that would be "a powerful voice to lobby for peace with the Palestinians." It could come to be seen as a counterweight to Aipac and other Jewish organizations.
For some obscure reason, there is no mention of a similar effort to create "a powerful voice" to lobby the Palestinians for peace with Israel. The insinuation is clear: The reason peace hasn't arrived isn't the Palestinians' refusal to compromise on anything or to adhere to the international "roadmap," their violation of every single agreement signed in the past, the ongoing terrorism against Israeli civilians, or even their rejection of the Jewish people's very right to a state in any part of its historic homeland — but is due to Israel's unyielding positions.

It pushes hot-button issues like anger over Hurricane Katrina, warns newly elected Democrats to change Washington, and calls on Americans to reject President Bush and withdraw from Iraq.
Ahmadinejad is sounding more and more like Mearsheimer and Walt, not to mention Pat Buchanan.
Guess that makes him an American patriot.

This idea posits that The United States underwrote the "Jewish entity" from its inception for geopolitical considerations: to secure the Suez choke-point and, of course, the oil.
Realizing that great Britain was, at the end of World War Two, a spent force, we had no choice but to succeed to the role of holder of world power. Since our isolationist traditions and tendencies worked against a robust imperial policy, it were necessary to make the continued existence of Israel an ongoing pretext.
Now that was never the only reason for our support of Israel. There were always sincere religious and cultural considerations. Those consideration, you see, were precisely why the gambit has worked so well. Support for Israel whom every quarter has been mobilized foe empire. Moreover, support for Israel has fragmented the so-called, self-proclaimed "progressives."
Only now is the other side waking up to the con, and it still looks like there is nothing they can do about it. In the end, we rule as Britannia once did or Israel goes under.
