AND DEMOCRATS WILL RUSH TO SUPPORT HIM:

US Could Bomb Iran Nuclear Sites In 2007: Analysts (25 November, 2006, Agence France Presse)

President George W. Bush could choose military action over diplomacy and bomb Iran's nuclear facilities next year, political analysts in Washington agree.

"I think he is going to do it," John Pike, director of Globalsecurity.org, a military issues think tank, told AFP.

"They are going to bomb WMD facilities next summer," he added, referring to nuclear facilities Iran says are for peaceful uses and Washington insists are really intended to make nuclear bombs, or weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

"It would be a limited military action to destroy their WMD capabilities" added the analyst, believing a US military invasion of Iran is not on the table.

Pike is an opportunist, not a true military expert from a strategy standpoint. He put together the FAS.org lefty anti-war site for scientists (same group that opposed defeating communism) and then spun off a think tank. He got himself quoted a lot starting around 2000 and is not a go to guy despite the fact that his main expertise has to do with systems rather than strategies or capabilities. His site is great for looking up what army has what weapons but for this sort of thing he's no better than Sy Hersh.

It appears this will be the only option left. Put the pressure on and they'll make nice for awhile but continue their pursuit. It's obvious Russia won't be in our corner with the UN. They wouldn't want to interupt their arms sales.

Why would the democrats be any different with Iran than Iraq? Vote for it before voting against it. After the bombs fall, of course.

President Bush needs to take a page out of Putin's book to learn how to do things and not give a damn what the World thinks.

The Dems in the Senate who want to be President will have to go along. In particular, their own words ("Iran is more important than Iraq") have them boxed in quite tightly.

But Syria must be done first - quickly, in and out. Kill 5000 Ba'athists in Damascus (and couple of hundred terror capos) and things in Lebanon change overnight. Plus, the Palestinians may actually come to Abraham.
