Great events force Americans and their leaders to rise to the occasion.

Exulting in Republican dominance being caused by 9/11 is backwards. What's important are the challenges to this country and to Western civilization.

Dwelling on the power calculus inverts the ends and means. It is something the Democrats do regularly. The Republicans at the grassroots level and at the top (Bush) understand the priorities.
