SLOW ON THE UPTAKE:

Foley says White House snubbed him (Reuters, 10/12/06)

Disgraced former U.S. Rep. Mark Foley complained to Florida Gov. Jeb Bush two years ago that the White House snubbed him during presidential visits to the state, according to e-mails obtained by the Palm Beach Post.

In e-mails the newspaper excerpted on its Web site on Thursday, Foley asked the governor to intervene on his behalf with his brother, President George W. Bush.

"Have I done something to offend the White House? ... I am always getting the shaft," Foley wrote to Gov. Bush on September 29, 2004.

He wishes.

W's polls wouldn't have cratered if he hadn't joined the chorus of idiots circling the wagons around Hastert.

Foley should have been out of the house in 04.

He didn't get snubbed enough.

He didn't. No one cares about Foley. They like cheap gas.

Bush is polling in the mid 40s. Foley had nothing to do with Bush's polls when he was in the 30s. Bush not supporting Hastert would have kept the frenzy alive - instead it is dying down faster than Plamegate.

Sure Foley should have been gone - just like Kennedy in the 70s and Studds, Franks, and Murtha in the 80s.

Cute double entendre at the end of the main post, although it's not quite chipmunk-friendly.

AWW-what misdeed did Murtha do in the 80s other than be a Democrat? You're insinuating some hanky-panky that I never saw come over the wire.

In 1980, prosecutors named Mutha as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Abscam scandal. The FBI caught him on tape saying he wasn't interested in the $50,000 bribe from an agent posing as an Arab sheik "at this point" but was open to further discussions.

AWW,

If you get off the happy pills here at Bros. Judd (hey, I'm addicted too), you'll see that Bush is back down to the mid 30s.

This drop coincides with Snow's "Circle the wagons" nonsense.

Had they just had the decency to "Trent Lott" the bozos of Republican Leadership, we'd all be better off.

"W's polls wouldn't have cratered if he hadn't joined the chorus of idiots circling the wagons around Hastert."

Huh? Please explain this in small words that even members of the Stupid Party can understand. Because the last presidential poll I heard (and I admit that Iusually ignore them) was tagged with something like "highest in years" at 44% or some such. (The RCP average shows about 38.) The bottom for him was last year, and had nothing to do with "circling wagons". So if you are claiming otherwise, you'd better provide some citations.

And he's campaigning with Hastert, which he wouldn't be if WH polls showed it was having any negative effect.
