Feds investigate Kolbe's '96 camping trip with pages (Jennifer Talhelm and Lara Jakes Jordan, 10/13/06, Associated Press)
Federal prosecutors in Arizona have opened a preliminary investigation into a camping trip that an Arizona lawmaker took with two former pages and others in 1996, according to a law enforcement official.Rep. Jim Kolbe, R-Ariz., took the former pages as well as staff members and National Park Service officials on a Fourth of July rafting trip in the Grand Canyon in 1996, his spokeswoman Korenna Cline said Friday.

It's going to be interesting to see how the House Democrats who served with Studds, including virtually all of the leadership, eulogizes him without sounding hypocritical on the Foley scandal, and someone is sure to say Rove snuck into the Massachusetts hospital disguised as a nurse with a bottle of untraceable poison to kill Gerry and force his name and his sex with the teen paige back into the news.
