SO WHERE DO THEY GO FROM THERE?:

Time to Move Beyond Bush-Hating (9/19/06, The Nation)

They haven't moved on because the next question is "Move on to what?" and that means actually presenting a foreign and domestic policy agenda you're in favor of and think you can get the majority of American voters to agree with. For a magazine that helped stoke some of the irrational hatred with David Corn's concocted Plame scandal, The Nation would seem to need to get its own house in order before telling those who follow its writing to try a more proactive course.

What did the bolsheviks get up to after they got past their czar-hatred. So many ideological enemies and so few cattle cars to siberia.

Except the Great Socialist Party found itself in power well before Scientific Socialiam said it would achieve it. That's why they did such an abysmal job of implementing True Socialism.

Mike B:

They probably won't attack the rich too much - after all, their chief public face is that haughty heiress, Katrina Vanden Heuval.

It's going to be tough for the hard left in the near future - unlike their fervor for Communism, embracing Islamofacism will become problematic for some on the Upper West Side. Can you see any of them protesting in defense of the blind sheikh (other than Lynne Stewart, who is probably going to be in jail for the rest of her life)?

Actually, I can. They've always thought that the consequences of their causes will (and should) be borne by Little People, and they will be rewarded by keeping their privileges (or even given positions of responsibility and power) should any of those causes succeed. Are they in for a surprise.
