Ford Motor Names Mulally Of Boeing as Chief Executive (Monica Langley, 9/05/06, Wall Street Journal)

Ford Motor Co., in a surprise move, reached outside the auto industry to name senior Boeing Co. executive Alan Mulally as its new chief executive officer.

Yes, but here is an example of why Boeing may need competition (Of course for the guy in the rear lavatory, it was more exciting than Magic Mountain)

H-man: almost everything explodes on impact. The Airbus products are the ones that sometimes also explode on takeoff (although, to be fair, they just have parts drop off and then explode on impact).
