ZZZZZZZZZ....:

Canada falling off the map with American travellers (TAVIA GRANT, 8/30/06, Globe and Mail)

Canada has an image problem south of the border. It's not that Americans have a bad impression of their northern neighbour — it's that they have no impression at all.

. . . yet numerous Americans are aware of the heavy anti-American feelings of many Canadians. According to comments on other blogs, these same Americans are now consciously avoiding Canuckistan for this very reason.

If Harper's still PM in 2010 - we may go to the Olympics.

Jon Stewart guest-starring on "Dr. Katz":

“When I visit Canada the Canadians always ask me, ‘What do Americans really think of Canadians, what do Americans really think of Canadians, what do Americans really think of Canadians?’

I answer, ‘We don't.’”

Canadian to American: "When we Canadians talk about the USA, we discuss your racism, inequity, lack of health-care, etc. So I wonder, when you Americans talk about Canada, what do you discuss?"

American, "Huh???? We never talk about Canada."

We don't talk about North Dakota, Idaho, Kentucky or Alabama either, unless some politician from there does or says something stupider than usual, or the weather turns especially bad, or some people die in a horrible way.

Lou:

And we up here appreciate that.

Canada took a long snooze, but it's waking up now and we'll see what develops.

Want a great vacation, try the Canadian Rockies. Gorgeous, not as crowded as our big parks and they speak English out west, not like the French provinces.
