A LATE HIT AFTER THE WHISTLE
Reuters car hit by Israeli airstrike (Globe and Mail, August 26th, 2006)
Israeli aircraft fired two missiles early Sunday at an armoured car belonging to the Reuters news agency, wounding five people, including two cameramen, Palestinian witnesses and hospital officials said. The Israeli army said it did not realize the car's passengers were journalists and only attacked because the vehicle was driving in a suspicious manner near Israeli troops in the middle of a combat zone.
Sure it was.

Posted by: ratbert at August 27, 2006 2:54 PMLook at the pictures of the truck at Powerline, then follow their link to Zombietime's expose on the ambulance fraud. Amazingly similar to my eyes.
The dude on the stretcher (picture at Powerline) looks like somebody sprinkled ketchup on him. There is no connection between the 'blood' spots and any wounds. His t-shirt is still bright white and untorn.
Posted by: Chris B at August 27, 2006 3:20 PMThe vehicle does have suprisingly little damage in the available photos, considering that it was supposedly hit by two missiles. Compare the images with some of the early images of Palestinian terror leaders' cars that were hit by a single IDF missile and you have to wonder either if the vehicle really was the target, or if the Israelis were sending a message via a "narrow miss" to the Reuters' camera crew, based on the news agency's recent problems with their photo stringers in Lebanon.

Posted by: jim hamlen at August 27, 2006 5:39 PMIn a warzone, where the bad guys hide behind medical insignia and use ambulances to transport weapons, an armored vehicle with "PRESS" on the side would look like a legitimate target to me.
