THIS TIME WE REALLY MEAN "HALT!":

Calderon set for Mexico victory (BBC, 7/04/06)

Conservative candidate Felipe Calderon has won Mexico's presidential election, according to preliminary results.

Electoral authorities give Mr Calderon the narrowest of margins of just over 1% ahead of his leftist rival, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador. [...]

If Mr Calderon's win is confirmed, the victory will halt the rise of the so-called left in Latin America, and the US will continue to have a like-minded administration on its southern border, the BBC's Duncan Kennedy in Mexico City says.

Why didn't the Leftist losses in Costa Rica, Colombia and Peru halt it?

Probably because very few people know about it. The NYT et al. know how to keep the important secrets under their hats.

Maybe because some facts are so obvious that even the "so-called left" has to admit that they can't bend them to fit into their latest fantasy which they've given the orwellian label of "reality"?

The latest report is that Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador wants every vote recounted in the presidential election. We might as well just change his name to El Gore right now, since it's a lot easier to remember.

"every vote recounted" and counted and counted... until we are ahead and then we stop counting.

Well, the EU is on record that it now takes 55% to make a "majority".

h-man: "every vote counted and recounted until we are ahead..."

But only in certain districts!
