DEAD IN THE MOUNTAINS:
Convicted Enron founder Ken Lay dies (The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, 07/05/06)
Enron Corp. founder Ken Lay, who was convicted last month of fraud and conspiracy for his part in the Houston-based company's collapse into bankruptcy in 2001, has died of a heart attack at his vacation home in Colorado, Reuters reported, citing a Houston television station report on Wednesday.
Just as the CIA closed the unit it had searching for OBL, so too can the Times close it's Lay-hunting unit. Posted by Orrin Judd at July 5, 2006 10:29 AM
They only want you to think he's dead.

Posted by: ratbert at July 5, 2006 1:34 PMWhy do all the articles mention that Bush had a nickname for Ken Lay and none of them mention the close association that Clinton had with Enron when he sent his trade commissar out with the Enron salesmen to visit potential customers. I have seen the obits in 5 newspapers, none with the byline of the same reporter, and every single one of them mentions the nickname Bush had for Ken Lay and none of them mention that Clinton went to far out of his way to do things for Enron in exchange for getting money from them.

Probably the same reason why Paul Krugman never mentions that he used to be an Enron consultant.
Posted by: Mike Morley at July 5, 2006 2:49 PMI still think Ken Lay got burned in the crucible.
Posted by: ghostcat at July 5, 2006 9:07 PMIs it even possible this could be something other than a self-induced heart attack, however one manages that?
