BOY, THAT JOE LIEBERMAN SURE IS OUT OF STEP...:

Senate rejects U.S. troop pullout in Iraq (LIZ SIDOTI, 6/15/06, Associated Press)

The vote was 93-6 to shelve the proposal, which would have allowed "only forces that are critical to completing the mission of standing up Iraqi security forces" to remain in 2007.

Yup, it's the perfect climate for a Democratic takeover of Congress, eh?

I was mildly amused to see our two Senators hadn't the stones to be among the six. Typical.

As for the grim news that death casualties had reached 2500, it was played up in radio newscasts today without any perspective. Grim enough, especially for those who died and their loved ones, but Grant killed more than twice that many in part of one morning at Cold Harbor.

Hey, Leahy and Jeffords weren't among the six, no real shocker there. Jeffords is retiring in January (and he's lost his mind too, so he probably thought he was ordering lunch) and Leahy doesn't have to worry about re-election until -oh man!- 2011! Geez, Leahy's never going away! Anyway, neither of them have to worry about appealing to the moonbats up here so they played the bipartisan card. They can say, "Oh, we voted for this thing! We're *centrists!*" and think that actually means something.

Well obviously the terrorists aren't going to win in Iraq by themselves, so the democrats have to set a withdrawl deadline to help them out.
