PHILISTINIANISM (via Tom Corcoran):
Dear Useful Idiot: On Cindy Sheehan’s Dear President Bush (Catherine Seipp, 5/25/06, National Review)
[T]he most idiotic statement in Sheehan’s new book, Dear President Bush, comes not from Sheehan herself but from Howard Zinn, who writes in the introduction: “A box-cutter can bring down a tower. A poem can build up a movement. A pamphlet can spark a revolution.”A box-cutter can bring down a tower. By now, I suppose, we should be used to the hard Left’s extending underdog status to the worst of mass murderers; still, the sheer gall of beginning a series of David-and-Goliath metaphors with that one is breathtaking.
Except that box-cutters are Goliath--our response was David. Posted by Orrin Judd at May 26, 2006 8:07 AM
There's a scene in "Independence Day" where all the peace love and understanding types in the Los Angeles area climb on to the roof of one of the city's tallest office buildings to greet the aliens as welcome visitors, and are immediately blasted into dust by the spaceship hovering above.
When I see writings by Miss Cindy, Zinn or others, I can't help picturing the whole crew of them standing on the observation deck of the World Trade Center on 9/11 waving signs of peace, love and understanding towards the jetliners as they approach the towers.
Posted by: John at May 26, 2006 9:49 AMCindy Sheehan and Howard Zinn wouldn't be on top of WTC2 waving to the planes; they'd be at Logan Airport to see Mohammed Atta and company off and wish them good luck.
Posted by: Mike Morley at May 26, 2006 11:05 AMThat's exactly what would happen to them if their dreams were to come true. The first thing the RoP would do is get rid of uppity women and girly men and thusly wipe out 99.9% of the moonbat left in one fell swoop.
Posted by: erp at May 26, 2006 11:08 AMThis is stunningly self-destructive.
If Sheehan is not a Rovian agent provocateur, she should be.

Posted by: Steve White at May 26, 2006 3:33 PMSteve, do you mean the ones placed there by the Mossad?
