OUR CHILDREN HAVE EXQUISITE TASTE . . .
Study: Parents Encourage Tots to Watch TV (Lauran Neergaard, AP, 5/24/06)
Even for the littlest tots, TV in the bedroom isn't rare: 19 percent of babies under 2 have one despite urging from the American Academy of Pediatrics that youngsters not watch any television at that age.. . . so we've given them their own wine cellar. Posted by David Cohen at May 25, 2006 11:54 AMSo concludes a new study that highlights the immense disconnect between what child-development specialists advise and what parents allow.
"My reasoning was that my little boy was extremely intelligent since birth. At 1 year old, he was putting his own DVDs in, skipping scenes," one mother of a preschooler told researchers with the Kaiser Family Foundation. "I thought it was a real good thing for him to have his own TV because TV helped him grow at a very young age."
"...my little boy was extremely intelligent since birth..."
Oh, that's what they all say!
"...putting his own DVDs in..."
Wow, your kid can put an object in a slot. He's Master Billy Quizboy, Boy Genius!
"...skipping scenes..."
Or maybe he's a dimwit with no attention span after all.

The only test of childhood intelligence contained in doing chores is how clever they can be in finding ways to avoid doing them.
Posted by: Brandon at May 25, 2006 3:41 PMAs long as me and the wife don't have to do them I don't care.

So in Europe, they don't have them, and here, we have them, dope them, daycare them, and warehouse them in anti-civilazation schools.
Yup, things are great.

They can see me up here.

Whew!
Pepys;
Try one of these. We got one and even though it's up on the second floor, we get good wireless connectivity throughout the basement. I hear the SRX400 versions are even better.
Hey, I have the same router and it's worked great first with a DSL line and now with cable. Great minds really do think alike.
