CAN'T ANYBODY PLAY THIS GAME?

Alabama candidate for AG disputes Holocaust, is coming to NJ (Jay Reeves, AP, 5/12/06)

A Democratic candidate for Alabama attorney general denies the Holocaust occurred and said Friday he will speak this weekend in New Jersey to a "pro-white" organization that is widely viewed as being racist.

Larry Darby concedes his views are radical, but he said they should help him win wide support among Alabama voters as he tries to "reawaken white racial awareness" with his campaign against Mobile County District Attorney John Tyson.

The way you do this in the Democratic primary is to express your concern that our international relations have been warped by Likudnik neocons and "End Times" Christianists. Then you say that to be honest brokers between Israel and Palestine we need to be seen as more neutral. Then you just finish up by saying that, although the history of the Jews has its share of tragedy, we can't just ignore the modern on-going tragedy in Palestine that is radicalizing poor Muslims and has caused the deaths of so many innocent Palestinians and Americans. That way you get to hate the Jews and be hailed as a progressive. Even if you're not elected, you can be sure of some sinecure at the DNC.

"Darby also has publicly advocated legalizing drugs and shooting illegal immigrants

See I'm a moderate. I hate it when someone passes me on the right.

Looks like the Democrats have been eaten by the lie they used to get the Black voting block: The Republicans southern strategy was to cater to white racists.

Catering to the white racists was why Ike had the NG escort the students to class in Mississippi and Arkansas while the dem governors sicced the dogs on them. Good to know.

Catering to the white racists was why higher percentages of the republicans voted for the civil rights act than dems and the republican leadership was out there working to get the votes for the bill while Byrd was filibustering it. Good to know that also. Makes a lot of sense.

Mr. Dick, you would be surprised how many people believe that lie.

Has anyone noticed that the far left and the far right have a nexus of anti-Semitism?

morry:

Not to mention a lot of other things. The sad part here is that he is so wacky he'll be easy to dismiss as a one-off fruitcake and decent Dems won't feel much need to look in the mirror.

Their both Left wing. Just one has military trappings.

The political spectrum is not a line, it is a circle.

The political spectrum is a line, not a circle. The far Right is for the divine right of kings. Don't twist yourself into knots buying into the myth of the Nazis being right-wingers. National Socialist, German worker's party. The Soviets are gone, we don't have to push the party line anymore.

There's a guy who thinks it's time for an immigration time out, huh?

It's grimly fascinating to watch many of the Chomskyite types place themselves in a situation where they clearly believe in some overarching Jewish conspiracy theory but can't say so out loud. So out goes the "Jewish interlopers" craziness and in comes the "neocon" meme, with the relentless repetition of Jewish names: Podhoretz, Kristol, etc.

This is similar to the raving BDS that really got going sometime around April or May of 2002. Some of this was due to the hardcore lefty types feeling that America had 9/11 coming but being unable to say so out loud -- indeed, being expected to mouth patriotic sentiments. This drove many of them totally bonkers.

According to LGF, Chomsky himself met with Hezbollah a short time ago, but the Reuters report of the meeting has been deleted from their archive. Neat. I saw something about it on the web somewhere, but I'm sure it wasn't on any of the drive-by media outlets.

ratbert:

Sounds like it just happened.

Calling a press conference with Hezbollah in order to denounce the U.S. as a terrorist state? They should give him his own show on Comedy Central.
