Dammit, I was assured that we were passing over the Hubbard Peak and that it was all downhill from here as civilization crumbled and hyper-intelligent apes took over. Where are my smart monkeys?!

I'd love to see the Anglosphere's central banks gang up on Soros--next time he shorts a currency, the Fed starts buying it up to drive up the exchange rate and run Soros into the ground. There's probably good macroeconomic reasons why it'll never happen, but, hey, I can dream, can't I?

Don't you just love the phrase:

"dropped under $2 per gallon to a level not seen since mid-April".

That's two weeks ago---an eternity in the mind of a hack trying to make a story.

Pick a value of X at Y point in time, Compare to X 0value today. Continue to select Ys until story emerges.

Mass exit of people from Calgary feared

"Rainfall in Calgary yesterday was higher than at any time in the past five days. Several Calgarians expressed deep disatisfaction with the wet streets, one threatening to "leave Calgary" on his next vacation.

When contacyed, Environment Canada refused to comment. Despite repeated 'phone calls over several minutes the Mayor's Office claimed he was "unavailable" for comment.

Questions will no doubt continue to be asked by concerned citizens. A source who asked to remain anonymous suggested that it's expected to feature at many Calgary dinner-tables and watercoolers over the next several hours."
