CUT TO THE CHASE AND EVICT THE OTHER 16 MILLION, TOO:
Ayaan Hirsi Ali Loses Her Home (HotAir, 4/30/2006)
Ayaan Hirsi Ali is the Somali-born Dutch parliamentarian whose outspokenness on the rights of women under Islam has made her a marked woman. Islamists have issued a fatwa calling for her death. And now she’s been evicted by court order at the request of her neighbors, who find her security concerns a nuisance. The Dutch court used superseding European law as the basis of its ruling:
The court considers in its ruling that the neighbors have been put into a situation that has contributed to them feeling less safe in their own house. That feeling is extended to the communal living spaces of the apartment complex, but also to their own apartments. The court argues that this is a severe violation of one’s private life (as per Article 8 of the European Treaty for Human Rights).
The EU Treaty for Human Rights is, no doubt, nearly as elastic as the US Constitution, interpreted by the Ninth Circuit. However, there seems to be a flaw in the ruling. Where can she live without neighbors feeling "less safe"? It would seem that the only way to vindicate the human rights of European residents is preemptive guillotining. Send her back to Somalia, and all the Dutch can feel "more safe."

Posted by: NC3 at April 30, 2006 9:40 PMShe's guilty of the one capital crime for which the Eurodhimmis are still willing to carry out the sentence: upseting their fantasy world with reality and the truth.
NC3 - Never heard of a reductio ad absurdum, have you?
Posted by: pj at April 30, 2006 10:08 PMThree law suits: 1. She should bring a law suit to the EU human rights court to demand her human rights to live in her own home without molestation by the govt., and by the terrorists.
2. Sue the govt. for being incompetent, for being unable to provide her with the security that a law abiding tax payer should expect from the govt.
3. Sue the govt. for not protecting her rights to free speech.
In this smallest of events one almost sees enough reason in it alone to throw the Europeans over the side. They are cowards, plain and simple.
Posted by: Andrew X at May 1, 2006 9:09 AMic has hit the heart of the matter, which is apparently that those making the death threats are not at fault.
I am curious, though, whether Mr. Judd, given your support for the threats of violence over the Muhammed cartoons, sees a problem here. Is this not once again the "majority" enforcing it's "right" to not hear "blasphemy"?
Posted by: Annoying Old Guy at May 1, 2006 11:22 AMAyaan Hirsi Ali also hates western Christian civilisation. According to Brussels Journal she says
"I would ban the VB because it hardly differs from the Hofstad group [a Jihadist terror network in the Netherlands, involved in the assassination of Theo van Gogh]. Though the VB members have not committed any violent crimes yet, they are just postponing them and waiting until they have an absolute majority. On many issues they have exactly the same opinions as the Muslim extremists: on the position of women, on the suppression of gays, on abortion. This way of thinking will lead straight to genocide.”
(VB is Vlaams Belang, Belgium’s largest political party)
To sum up she's nothing but a pain, and probably a lesbian and should be sent back to Somali.
aog - Your question is an excellent one for oj, but I don't know that he'll be reading this thread.
ic - Perhaps I'm overly cynical, but I wouldn't expect lawsuits to be a very effective way of proceeding.
h-man - Even hate-filled secular leftists don't deserve to be prohibited from housing because terrorists might kill them.
