APT SYMBOLISM (via Chris Markle):

Die-hard fans get team-colour caskets (Agence France-Presse, 08-04-2006)

FANS of Argentina's most popular soccer team, Boca Juniors, can now rest in peace in a casket dressed in their favourite team's colours.

Die-hard fans can buy their own coffins decorated in Boca colors and symbols for between 2,000 pesos and 2,500 pesos ($US650 to $US800), a small fortune for many of Boca's working-class followers.

The game itself is so lifeless the players look like they're modeling coffins.

There was a story a while back (2003?) about the new tradition in Ghana of custom made caskets shaped like tools, cars, airplanes or Coke bottles.

I'm more of a River Plate fan myself. It doesn't get any better than el super classico, as the Boca/River matches are called, tho.

Spoken like someone who's never watched a proper football march above the peewee level tho oj.
