MEDIEVALISM IS ANTI-NATIONALIST:

In Poland, Twin Leaders Push Nationalist Agenda: The president and his brother say they need to build a strong state. Rights groups say the pair's right-wing policies threaten civil liberties (Jeffrey Fleishman, March 12, 2006, LA Times)

They were precocious childhood actors who once plotted to steal the moon, but these days the silver-haired Kaczynski twins have a new goal: leading Poland to the right.

President Lech Kaczynski and his identical twin, Jaroslaw, leader of the dominant Law and Justice Party, believe Poland has been weakened by years of liberalism and corruption. They're stoking patriotism and forming alliances with ultraconservative parties.

Their homespun rhetoric resonates in an economically troubled nation that has yet to bury the vestiges of 40 years of communism. The brothers, who oppose gay rights and have chastised a media they view as instigating moral decay, want an education system that emphasizes all things Polish. They also want a new anti-corruption agency to root out communist holdovers. [...]

Human rights groups for years have been concerned by the Kaczynskis' politics, which run counter to the more liberal and secular leanings of the European Union, which Poland joined in 2004. In a report last month, Human Rights Watch, a New York-based group, said an "official homophobia" existed in Poland.

Robert Biedron, president of Poland's Campaign Against Homophobia, characterized the Kaczynski brothers' position as "medieval conservative."

"It's actually more clerical than conservative," he said. "It's very much what the Catholic Church says. They're trying to build a Polish nationalist country and bring these values to the European Union."

Many in this overwhelmingly Roman Catholic nation do not think of the brothers, who were prominent Solidarity revolutionaries in the 1980s, as nationalists. Supporters consider them conservatives whose policies are what a proud yet insecure Poland needs to emerge as a strong political voice between Western Europe and the former Soviet states. Much of the Kaczynskis' agenda centers on the political equivalent of tarring and feathering former communists.

After Lech Kaczynski took office in December, the government announced that it would recall 10 Polish ambassadors who had connections with the communist regime that collapsed more than 16 years ago. The government wants to investigate former communist politicians and businessmen linked to scandals involving oil and Russian spies and questionable post-Soviet deals. Some of these officials belong to leftist and social democratic parties that have only recently left power.

"We name streets with the names of heroes, not traitors. So we now have to decide who are the heroes and who are the traitors," said Bronislaw Wildstein, a writer and supporter of Law and Justice. "The Kaczynski government wants deep reforms to the laws and to speak openly about the set of values that exists for much of Poland."

Getting the values right would make them pretty much unique in Europe.

This is all going to be easier to understand once you know what "Solidarity" means.

Hint: it doesn't mean "Shipbuilders union." http://www.newadvent.org/library/docs_jp02ca.htm

All they have to do is hold out untill the EU collapses into civil war in 2050. Once the enlightened Euros have ethnicly clensed and murdered their mulsim minorities the Europe that emerges will be half it's current population size and so agressivly Christian it'll make Torquemada look like a commie.

I'm thinkin' that they won't wait until '50 to start the ethnic cleansing.

Most Euro nations will be in real financial difficulties by '20, and will no longer want to support large welfare rolls.

That's going to cause quite a bit of friction between the larger societies, and the immigrant populations.

I don't think so, genocide requires at least one generation to percolate. The German armies that Hitler sent to rape Europe had grown up knowing nothing but chaos and national humiliation. 20 years is a long, long time to a 20 year old.

Europe needs at least one generation to grow up knowing nothing but strife and hatred from their muslim neighbors, then they'll be set for the explosion.

Or maybe the whole thing will just settle down. I don't thinks so though, Islam seems uniquely resistant to moderation by time, it seemes to grow more arrogant and fundamentalist with each generation. Look at Turkey.

How will the elderly cleanse the young ?

Posted by: oj at March 13, 2006 7:22 AM

I just don't buy that elderly/youth thing. Armed conflicts are not won by numbers, the jews beat all five arab armies 3 times in a row. Muslims can't fight.

You're imagining set piece battles with tanks?

Posted by: oj at March 13, 2006 9:14 AM

Yes, I'm imagining conventional military forces like police and interior troops smashing entrenched opposition with a rabble of opportunistic paramilitaries, death squads and lynch mobs backing them up and doing the real damage as they fall apon disorganized columns of fleeing refugees and civilians. In other words, the exact same pattern of just about every genocide since the Armenian one, barring the Nazi one where the whole state was officially on board.

What happened to the Albanians of Kosovo before Nato stepped in?

Muslims can't fight. I don't mean as individuals, I mean they can't fight organized or semi-organized warfare as groups. They can't do it. In the first Israeli war they had all the tanks, aircraft and artillery they needed, the Jews had almost nothing. The Arabs still lost.

They can't fight because they can't think in an organized fashion. The instant their societal structures come under any stress they fly apart into warring, disorganized groups. Some of those groups can still function well tactically, but it makes no difference strategically, where they get overwhelmed by an organized enemy which cooperates with itself. We've seen this a dozen times this century alone.

It's not genetic, muslims are not individually dumber than anybody else, it's cultural. Islam creates profound functional stupidity and intellectual stagnation in every society it gets a grip on.

Look at Malaysia, the ethnic Chinese control 80% of the economy, despite being about 20% of the population. Why?

Who do you think is going to staff the ;liquidization squads in a Europew without young natives? The italian guys who live with Mom until thy're 50?

Posted by: oj at March 13, 2006 12:50 PM

But there's not going to be NO young non-muslims, just a demographic weighting in favor of the muslims. There may be what, three young fighting age muslims to every one European? Four, five six? Doesn't matter.

It's organized structures that win modern fights. More importantly, as Handson says, it’s the entire way a culture thinks that makes it powerful in commerce, science and war. The muslims are utterly pathetic at all three. Organization is the force multiplier. Three, four or even ten to one won't matter if it's disorganized gangs of adiddas-wearing gansta wannabes and ignorant islamist thugs vs police and army backed up by paramilitaries.

Why do you think there will be NO fighting age Europeans as opposed to just much fewer than the muslims? And there is a vast difference between fighting on your own turf and fighting half-heartedly for some grubby colonial possession like Algeria.

I think it’s going to be very very ugly. I think the muslims of Europe, led by a fanatical islamist minority of politicians and imams (none of whom will be able to agree with each other on strategy), whipping up an opportunistic underclass of illiterate muslim criminals to use as their ‘soldiers’, and acquiesced to by a much broader passive muslim ‘moderate’ population going along out of fear and apathy, will declare war on the european state in thirty years or so. They will do so in the absolute, unshakable conviction that Allah will give them victory so there’s no need to do all that boring stuff with supply systems, chains of unified command or even commanders who can read or write. They will then be exterminated by a much smaller professional force which will cut through them like a chainsaw, followed by a Europe-wide pogrom of forced expulsion in which the real casualties and atrocities will be inflicted by european civilians, not soldiers.

Posted by: Amos at March 13, 2006 7:46 PM

Where is this European force?

Posted by: oj at March 13, 2006 8:32 PM

You're saying Europe has NO armed forces? That's just bizzare. They can't project force effectivly like America can, but they have well equipped armies for national defense and always will. And they have police forces and domestic security forces. Pretending they don't is just weird.

Posted by: Amos at March 14, 2006 8:14 PM

Amos:

I'm sorry, did you mean that this genocide is starting today? Well, today, as you say, "They can't project force effectively," but they may well be capable of sending tanks into Paris, Berlin, etc. and rooting out all the Muslims, though I wouldn't put money on them. Twenty or forty years from now, when push is more likely, though not likely, to come to shove their forces will just be several decades more rotten.
