ED RENDELL, YOUR NIGHTMARE HAS ARRIVED:

A few minutes ago, the Sugar Bowl announcers referred to Lynn Swann seeking a "higher calling" after decades as a sideline reporter, and Swann himself piped in that he was looking forward to serving the people of Pennsylvania.

I hope ol' #88's got a squeaky clean past; I'm sure his trash is already being sorted through.

This assumes the PA GOP is smart enough to make him the GOP governor candidate.

Every once in a while, someone from the networks or in the MSM makes the greivous error of thinking that folks in the eastern half of PA like the Steelers as much as folks do in the western half of the state. I sure hope all this happy talk about Mr. Swann has taken into consideration the fact that they may as well be two different states when it comes to the NFL... and that Mr. Swann's glorious past isn't looked upon so fondly east of Altoona.

They may not be in love with him east of Harrisburg, but it makes the 100 percent voter turnout and 100 percent support for Ed Rendell in the black neighborhoods of Philadelphia a lot harder to get past the smell test come November.

Jeez,

It has nothing to do with the popularity of the Steelers in Eastern Pa. It has to do with a handsome, intellegent, well-spoken black man running for governor. The question is whether a lot of the blacks in Philly will vote for him, and if so, I think he's got a great chance at pulling it off.

I remember an article last year about some women voting for W.

They pulled the lever for him, they'll do it for Swann.

He should have Steele visit w/him.

In those districts, 100% turnout would the lowest in years.

The former host of To Tell the Truth against Ed Rendell . . .
