ISN'T THERE SOME GHETTO THEY COULD PUT IT IN?:

An Ill Wind Off Cape Cod (ROBERT F. KENNEDY Jr., 12/16/05, NY Times)

AS an environmentalist, I support wind power, including wind power on the high seas. I am also involved in siting wind farms in appropriate landscapes, of which there are many. But I do believe that some places should be off limits to any sort of industrial development. I wouldn't build a wind farm in Yosemite National Park. Nor would I build one on Nantucket Sound, which is exactly what the company Energy Management is trying to do with its Cape Wind project.

Ted's next date might be cut to ribbons instead of drowned.

NIMBY is a Kennedy tradition.

I don't have a full list of the family's traditions. Perhaps someone knows of others. . . . . .

This is a classic Liberal NIMBY stance. This article should be distributed to voters everywhere as evidence of their attitude.

The "Do as I say, not as I do" attitude of the Kennedys has never been in doubt, but the breathtaking arrogance/stupidity of lil' Bobby announcing it to the world in the New York Times is almost crying out for a public backlash (though to be fair to RFK Jr., he might have been hoping that the Times Select system would give his op-ed the anonimity to simply appear in the dead tree edition and only online for people willing to pay $49 to read Paul Krugman, who would likely share his sense of entitlement to their own pristine enclaves).

I agree with him. They should build it in Hyannisport.

Genecis is right. Not only should they build it in Hyannisport, but they should use emminent domain to seize the Kennedy compound for the land.

It's obvious that a wind generator would provide much more economic benefit than a gaggle of Kennedys guzzling gin and devising new ways to kill themselves.

Ohhh, KELO Hyannisport.

L'il Bobby, you ignorant slut.

We put windfarms where it's windy. We wouldn't put them in a glorified box canyon (which is what Yosemite is). And it it was windy there, then we'd probably do just what we did when useful resources are found in National Parks. Which is why the geysers that used to be found in Nevada are now being used to light Las Vegas casinos instead, but those in Yellowstone are protected from development.

Oh, I get it, Li'l Bobby's hometown is the equivalent of a National Park.

Commandeer all of Kansas, put up a gazillion windmills, then sit back and watch those turbines spin.

On second thought the wind generators are already in Hyannisport.

If I didn't know better, I would assume that Karl Rove runs the NYTimes, on the "give them enough rope and they will hang themselves" theory.

What excuse does Teddy have for going topless at the beach?
