NO ONE WILL BE HAPPIER THAN THE SOLDIERS:

S Asian rivals hold peace talks (BBC, 10/04/05)

Indian Foreign Minister Natwar Singh has met Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf for talks on the peace process between the two countries.

The two leaders were expected to discuss how to resolve the long-running military stand-off over the Siachen glacier in Kashmir.

Pakistan and India signed two security co-operation accords on Monday.

Mr Singh is in Pakistan for four days of talks to review peace moves begun in early 2004.

Officials from the two sides are also due to hold talks on strengthening economic ties on Tuesday.

Siachen is certainly one of history's oddest battlefields.
