BETTER TO BOYCOTT THAN FIND OUT HOW MINOR YOU ARE?:

Iraqis vote with little violence (Sharon Behn, 10/16/05, THE WASHINGTON TIMES)

Iraqis turned out in force yesterday -- including Sunni Arabs who boycotted the nationwide election in January -- to vote "yes" or "no" on a constitution viewed as a bellwether in efforts to build a democracy and stop terrorist attacks.

The day went smoothly with few attacks, from the time whole families began trickling into the polling stations early in the morning until voting ended at 5 p.m.

Officials estimated the turnout as high as 60 percent, slightly higher than the 58 percent of Iraqi voters who braved bombs and gunfire in January to elect a parliament.

So turning out all the Sunni for the vote boosted it by 2%? Think maybe Saddam was lying about them being the majority?

Ha! Over 60% participation in this election?!? That's what one calls a success? Why, over 99% voted for Saddam in the good old days!

obc:

And in a story printed just after that "election," Reuters said that nobody could know for sure whether that election was legitimate or not. I almost spewed my Froot Loops all over the morning paper.

Roto-Reuters - predictably "impartial'. HA!
