THEY ARE WHO THEY THINK WE ARE:

Scotland tops list of world's most violent countries (Katrina Tweedie, 9/19/05, Times of London)

A UNITED Nations report has labelled Scotland the most violent country in the developed world, with people three times more likely to be assaulted than in America.

England and Wales recorded the second highest number of violent assaults while Northern Ireland recorded the fewest. [...]

Violent crime has doubled in Scotland over the past 20 years and levels, per head of population, are now comparable with cities such as Rio de Janeiro, Johannesburg and Tbilisi.

The attacks have been fuelled by a “booze and blades” culture in the west of Scotland which has claimed more than 160 lives over the past five years.

The response? Keeping the pubs open 24/7.

The last time I was in England, my hosts urgently trained me before we all boarded the subways and buses for the first time" "Don't make eye contact with anyone, whatever you do. This isn't America."

Do these people realize that no one in America in their right mind wants to spend their travel dollars in countries where you can't have a beer without getting beat up? We will go to Asia, where people still have a sense of propriety. Japan and Taiwan are 'safe as houses' -- an expression that originated with the English. I couldn't believe how far civility had slid out of sight on my trp to the UK. Everything is a confrontation, even buying some groceries. Everyone having a go. Never go back. Joan Collins (she can write) said the same in an op-ed piece a few weeks back. Extend pub hours? The Brits should not be allowed to drink - period. "Bottle" in the UK is slang for courage, as in "He didn't have the bottle to do it" or "Get up the bottle." Take away their alcohol and they wouldn't have the bottle to protest it. Are there any decent people left in that place?

Rob, vacation in the U.S. I'll bet you haven't seen everything. Get a big comfortable car and drive around, western Canada too. Don't miss Lake Louise and Jasper. Mexico is wonderful. Plenty to see, fabulous scenery, mountains, beaches, ancient ruins and beautiful people.

Let the people in the UK and Europe who have opted to live in the paradise that is socialism enjoy it without us Yanks getting in their way.

Rob:

Oh yeah? You want some do ya? Fink you're a bit tasty, do ya? Come over here and say that...

See you Jimmy!

I thought we were all supposed to be turning into metrosexual poofters, but obviously Londoners can still put the wind up Yankee tourists no bovver.
