Plans to allow round-the-clock drinking face a last-minute revolt from MPs who fear that the proposals will increase violent crime.The Conservatives and Liberal Democrats joined forces yesterday to demand that the Government delay the most sweeping changes to the licensing laws for 90 years.
They will use a little-known parliamentary process called “praying” in an attempt to wring concessions from the Government.
The libertarian approach to vice can almost drive one headlong into the embrace of Marxist class analysis when it becomes clear all the noble talk of freedom and individual choice is just a form of denial that shields their contempt for those further down the ladder from themselves.

As drinkers flood out of the pubs there is contention for taxis, and this, of course, leads to fisticuffs and all manner of riotous horseplay. That's how Brit explained it to me, at least. By letting it go round the clock, the home-going traffic will be dispersed throughout the day/night, thus happy drunks will be ferried briskly to their flats spit-spot, with no opportunity for pugilistic mayhem.
I say they just need more cabbies. They have enough Muslims to handle it.
