Wild ponies make annual swim in dense fog (AP, July 27, 2005)

CHINCOTEAGUE, Va. --Between 150 and 200 wild ponies made the annual swim to the shore of this resort island in dense fog Wednesday morning.

What do they eat when they get there? Or do they just feed off the tourists? Kind of adapting to their environment over the generations, you know, in Darwinian fashion?

They swim for the cameras - these are the supermodels of the horse world.

Very fanciful, but reality is they are sold and proceeds go to the fire department. Wonder why PETA wasn't there protesting?
