WHY WAIT?:

Gaza houses 'will be demolished' (BBC, 6/19/05)

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has said Jewish homes in the Gaza Strip will be destroyed when Israel pulls out its troops and settlers.

Speaking after talks in Jerusalem with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, Ms Rice said the move had been agreed by Israel and the Palestinians.

Earlier, Ms Rice said the pull-out would be an "historic" step which could lead to a Palestinian state. [...]

She said it was an "historic step that can lead to the eventual resolution and the eventual ability to get to a two-state solution", as envisaged under the internationally-backed roadmap plan for peace between Israel and the Palestinians.

When the French left the newly independent former colony of Guinea in 1958, Sekou Toure', its Marxist President, refused to join the French Commonwealth unlike pretty much every other former African colony. The French knocked down the buildings they built in Guinea, took away all the fixtures including the wiring, and left.

The Israelis should do the exact same thing when they leave any part of Gaza, Samaria and Judea.

"Act French" is always good advice, eh?

'Acting French' has always worked for me in either the kitchen or on a date.

The Israelis would simply be doing a little well-deserved payback against the Muslim scum. Of course, I'd plow the fields with salt and poison the water supply too but that might be overkill.

You trade the girl you're with to a German for a chocolate bar?

Posted by: oj at June 19, 2005 10:56 AM

Providing the German's with women is the French raison d'etre. The chocolate bar is just a nice little bonus.

Mmmm....chocolate.

I would rather they left the structures intact so we could watch the barbarians tear them down and turn a modern residential community into another slum. Or, perhaps they would surprise me and turn Gaza into a nice Palestinian settlement. Either way, we learn more about the ability of the Palestinians to govern themselves. For the Israelis to destroy them seems petty and will feed anti-Israel sentiment.

Clearly the houses were a poison chalice to the Palestinian leadership. They were too nice and any effort to hand them out would result in bloodshed. Better to blow them up.

They should write verses from the Koran on all the walls....that should confuse everybody as to what to do.

RC's comment is funny.

Patrick,

If there is one constant in the last 2000 years of human history, it is that nothing Jews do or fail to do has any impact on whether people hate us.
