India and US sign defence accord (BBC, 6/29/05)
India and US have signed a 10-year agreement to strengthen defence ties between the two countries.
The landmark agreement will help facilitate joint weapons production, co-operation on missile defence and the transfer of technology.
Indian Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee and US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld signed the agreement.
There has been a significant transformation in relations between the two countries in recent years.
It's George Bush's most significant foreign policy achievement.

Nehru isn't spinning in his grave, he's twirling extremely rapidly.
Does this inhibit our "terrorist hunting" cooperation with Pakistan in any way?
Why do you think they're co-operating in the first place?
Umm...well put oj. But you must admit arrests are being made (al-Libbi last month for example).
Pakistan has behaved in exemplary fashion. They're terrified.
Pakistan's leadership knows that they can impress us with the small stuff like the al-Libbi arrest and continue to do things like pay terrorists to blow up the Lok Sabha and we'll give them a free pass. The Pakistani government probably has more to do with Nork nukes than even the PRC does on a daily basis. But since it serves W's purpose(as well as that of his Saudi paymasters) of maintaining the fiction that the War on Terror is not of necessity a War on Islam, we will conveniently ignore the obvious.
It's precisely because it is a civil war within Islam that we need the likes of Pakistan.
Thanks guys. This is the best website ever.
i noticed an AP article yesterday (the first of its kind, but expected) about nixon and kissinger making disparaging remarks about Indira Ghandi and India in general. someone has noticed the indian spring and is moving to block it. pathetic.
Rove leaked it so W can smack the Realists down and curry favor with the Indians.
Who else is tired of Bart and his "Saudi paymasters" comments? The one on the Bush/Clinton thread below was particularly repulsive.
The facts back up my position. All you have is wishful thinking at best.
bart (no relation) may be a little extreme in his prose at times but he offers well thought out, articulate discourse to this site. Me, I just try to keep up with the big dogs here at brojudd...
Bart: The list of people and countries you hate is so long that my hand would fall off just listing them. You don't have "facts" on the Bush family, just tin foil conspiracy theories.
It's not my fault that the world is a miserable place, most countries are really badly run and most of our fellow human beings are a waste of resources. I'm just stating the obvious.
You don't get subjectivity any better than Harry.
Facts are stubborn things, OJ.
And jerks think its the rest of world thats jerks.
Nehru got cremated....so no twirling ;)
Bob: your hand never falls off, it just gets stronger. Trust me on this.
