A fuming John Kerry had "daggers in his eyes" after a fellow Democrat promoted Hillary Rodham Clinton for president — suggesting the 2004 loser is green with envy at a potential rival.

The flap was touched off two weeks ago when Clinton spoke at a Minneapolis Democratic dinner and Sen. Mark Dayton (D-Minn.) told the cheering crowd that he was introducing "the next great president of the United States."

Two days later, Kerry came over to Dayton on the Senate floor "with daggers in his eyes and said, 'What are you doing endorsing my 2008 presidential opponent?' . . . He was very serious," Dayton told the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Clinton's office declined comment but a friend tut-tutted: "Boys will be boys, even when they are senators."

You know, there's a surprisingly easy solution to a number of peoples' problems available here. The Clintons and Jerrys should spouse swap. Mrs. Heinz wants nothing more than to the wife of a president. Mr. Kerry is a natural cabana boy. Bill Clinton would welcome the cash. Hillary would be rid of Bubba. Everybody wins.

[Kerry] said, 'What are you doing endorsing my 2008 presidential opponent?'

Further proof that Kerry is delusional.
I have a better chance of being the '08 Dem Prez nominee than Kerry does. Kerry became the '04 nominee by being left of Iraq and right of Dean. Neither are likely to be a factor in primary voting next time.
If Kerry persists, I predict a Gephardt-style flame-out. For starters, Hillary has leftist street cred and is constructing a right leaning portfolio for the general election.

Democrat key party! Talk about taking us back to the 70's.

Watching Kerry turn into Humphrey Bogart in "The Caine Mutiny" over the next three years is going to be a source of unitentional comedy mixed with pathos, because the man's ego apparently is so large he doesn't realize the vast majority of Democrats who were supporting him last year are going to be trashing him with a vengence by the fall of 2007, with the added motivation of relieving all their frurstrations with the candidate from the 2004 election. Al Gore wasat least smart enough to avoid that by not running in '04.

OJ has a better chance of being the '08 Dem Prez nominee than Kerry does.

OJ, that's a brilliant suggestion as long as Therreza realizes that Bill is a pumphead.

Kerry on my wayward (and dillusional) son!

I wonder if JFk studied Roamn history at St. Paul;
clearly he should know the dangers of playing the
Gracchi card; the former was a veteran of a minor
little quagmire; (Spain) but met a bad end after
a round of irresponsible demagoguery

I can't wait for the attack ad showing Hillary side-by-side with Susan McDougal and Monica Lewinski, the Swift Boat-esque counter by "Vietnamese-Americans for Hillary," the Michael Moore documentary on Vince Foster . . . .

Well, the MSM may not go after Hillary and her connections to David Rosen, but it sounds like JFK just might. And so might John Edwards.

If she recovers, Elizabeth Edwards is one woman who wouldn't hesitate to attack Hillary directly.

Now that would be a catfight! Maybe "raisins" Theresa would join in?

I think you underestimate how many Democrats bought their own line during the election. Kerry just needs a well timed Clinton scandal and the support of the Dean-MoveOn crew to walk away with the nomination.

Kerry just needs a well timed Clinton scandal and the support of the Dean-MoveOn crew to walk away with the nomination.

I can see it now:

"When I served in Vietnam, I did not have sexual relations with that woman. . . ."

. . . then, six months later . . .

"Indeed, I did, while I was in Vietnam, where I served, have a relationship with Miss Nguyen that was not appropriate. In fact, it was wrong. It constituted a critical lapse in judgment and a betrayal of my loyal band of brothers there in Vietnam, where we all served together . . . ."

. . . and then . . .

"Vietnam was over forty years ago, for cryin' out loud. Why does Hillary Clinton want to keep going back, when so much is at stake in the nere and now. . . . Move-On-dot-org is solely responsible for this ad's content."

The attack on Hillary will question her life of privilege in Park Ridge and at Wellesley while John Kerry was defending America in the Mekong Delta.

However, Hillary will make a joint appearance with John O'Neill, thereby establishing the credibility for the four-part series on the forgotten heroes of the SwiftBoat Veterans in the New York Times, complete with calls for John Forbes Kerry to sign his Form 180 (which by then will be around day 950 since his promise to sign them).
