INCISIVE HEADLINE OF THE DAY
CLARIFICATION: Sinners unhappy with new pope (Grand Forks Herald, 4/22/05)
Posted by David Cohen at April 25, 2005 10:06 AMI wonder how Satan feels about the new Pope?
Posted by: ratbert at April 25, 2005 11:44 AMThe article refers to "...former North Dakota Gov. George and Jane Sinner.." which is a real hoot.
The Sinners are unhappy with the reactionary predilections of the new Pontiff, naturally enough, calling him a "reactionary choice who won't lead the church in a progressive way..."
As has been often noted, God sometimes uses coincidence to His advantage. You couldn't make this stuff up!
Posted by: Bruce Cleaver at April 25, 2005 2:07 PMI feel really dumb. I only quit the Catholic Church once. Nobody told me I could re-quit every time they said or did something I dis-agreed with. But, for some reason, I don't think it bothers them when you quit the second or third or fourth time.
Posted by: bindare at April 25, 2005 3:27 PMEx-governor (Oh, how wonderful that sounds) Sinner has a brother who's a priest: Father Sinner.
I know it doesn't roll off the tongue like RINO, but I can't help but think there needs to be a similar label for Catholics In Name Only.
Posted by: Roy Jacobsen at April 25, 2005 3:39 PMRoy,
We call them "C" and "E" Catholics.
(Christmas and Easter are the only times you'll see them in Church)...
What a headline. Hilarious! Kudos to the writer.
