FOR YOUR NETFLIX QUEUE:
The Sandbaggers a short-lived spy series from British television in the early 80s with Roy Marsden (who plays Adam Dalgleish in the PD James adaptations). It's overly melodramatic and deeply cynical, so quite fun.
Posted by Orrin Judd at April 12, 2005 2:11 PMHave you seen "Shaolin Soccer?" Neither of us like soccer, but then I had never seen a soccer ball kicked so hard that it turns into a flaming panther or generates a vortex that tears off the players' uniforms as it passes.
I know you like cooking, so if the soccer doesn't interest you, perhaps seeing how to make steam buns using "Move a Thousand Cattle with Four Tails" would. That, or the patrons at the bun shop breaking out into Thriller to the tune of "Celebration" for absolutely no reason.
It looks like the new movie "Kung-Fu Hustle" is by the same people. I recognize several of the actors.
