U.S. vigilante group targets Canada
(Associated Press, April 26th, 2005)
A civilian patrol group that has been monitoring the Mexican border for illegal immigrants wants to expand its mission to the Canadian border, organizers said Tuesday.Minuteman Project leaders said their volunteers alerted U.S. authorities to more than 330 cases this month of illegal immigrants crossing into the United States across a 37-kilometre stretch of Arizona's southern border. Now they plan to extend their patrol along the rest of the border with Mexico and are helping organize similar efforts in four states that neighbour Canada.
“In the absence of the federal government doing its mandated duty to secure our borders, we will pick up the slack. Reluctantly,” said Chris Simcox, a Minuteman co-organizer who also operates Civil Homeland Defense, another Arizona group that monitors illegal immigration.
On their first day, they intercepted four doctors and sent them packing.
We've got to keep all those Canadian comedians from sneaking down here and stealing the jobs of good, red-blooded patriotic American comedians!

Posted by: John J. Coupal at April 27, 2005 8:16 AMMaybe if I'm the Memphis Grizzlies, the Houston Rockets or the Denver Nuggets I can get the border vigilante guys down in Arizona to take a ride up to Phoenix and kidnap Steve Nash and turn him over to their northern branch so they can deport him back to Canada before the NBA playoffs really get underway...
Posted by: John at April 27, 2005 8:44 AMIt's over now, the carnage on the Arizona-Mexico border caused by violent right-wing vigilantes. No longer are members of the so-called Minuteman Project shedding the blood and violating the human rights of innocent Mexicans whose only "crime" was illegally trying to enter the United States to earn money for their impoverished families.
Weeks of slaughter and atrocities are now at an end, and the Minuteman vigilantes are going home. Oh, wait a minute. It never happened.
Posted by: Paul Cella at April 27, 2005 10:57 AMI don't think anyone ever thought the "Minutemen" would have the guts to get violent.
Posted by: Timothy at April 27, 2005 11:06 AMAll they really have to do is threaten to offer the illegals a can of Budweiser and they'll flee back across the border.

by Scott Ott
(2005-04-20) -- Governors of Arizona, Nevada and Oregon today praised California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's call to "close the borders," saying it would improve the security and living conditions of all citizens in their own states.
However, a spokesman for Gov. Schwarzenegger said he was speaking of the U.S. borders with Mexico and Canada, not California's borders with neighboring states.
"We're grateful for Arnold's unilateral move to protect us from incursion by Californians," the three governors said in a joint news release. "Our porous borders have posed a grave threat to our states for too many years. The ideological degradation spawned by this influx has devastated our own local cultures."
A spokesman for the local branch of the Minuteman Project said its patrols would continue to man border checkpoints looking for California license plates and "backpackers in Birkenstocks."

You may want to print this out and put it in your back pocket when you go out on patrol. It's how to make a fire with a soda can and a chocolate bar.
