WORSE MONEY AFTER BAD:

AFL-CIO's Sweeney Defeats Challenge From Dissidents (Thomas B. Edsall, March 3, 2005, Washington Post)

AFL-CIO President John J. Sweeney, in a show of power, turned back a strong challenge to his control from dissident unions and then won a major increase in spending on labor political activities during a federation meeting here Wednesday.

Wouldn't it be more effective to burn the money, at least it would give off light as well as heat.

Sweeney, the former head of the SEIU, a blue-collar public sector union, is almost the poster boy for why Labor has ceased to matter.
