They're all true believers, frightened of heretics. Dogma is preeminent to them.
Posted by: ghostcat at March 19, 2005 4:40 PMI can't believe they're protesting a war that is *over*! And has had such good results.

Posted by: Raoul Ortega at March 19, 2005 6:55 PMEach Saturday that follows, there will be demonstrations against:
1. The Peloponnesian War
2. The Punic Wars
3. The Crusades
4. The Crimean War
5. The War Between the States
6. The Boer War
7. World War I
8. The Spanish Civil War
9. World War II
And the largest demonstration of them all is expected to be against:
10. The War Between The Worlds

Wonder if any of the protestors had a sign proclaiming "Peace in Our Time"? Remember the yellow one from March 2003?
Posted by: jim hamlen at March 19, 2005 10:55 PMOne of the more peculiar aspects of living in Europe is watching the peregrinations of what many there call the 'Rent-A-Mob.' For decades, there has been a group of protestors who travel from protest to protest not unlike the people who followed the Grateful Dead around. And the Deadheads were probably much better company. They appear to have no means of employment but always have places to stay wherever they go to protest. You don't really see them hanging around the train station at 3AM. 'Tis a puzzlement.
