Can I have a dollar for every steroid reference to Giambi this year?

I happened to see this game on the net. Jerry Remy, who's a good color guy when he's not hawking his book, web site or restaurant, said that Giambi's bat looks faster than at any time last year.

No kidding, Jerry. That homer to dead center cleared the fence by plenty. Don't be surprised if Giambi has a very good year. I really want that dollar for every...

It's spring training. If I had a dollar for everybody who looked great in the Grapefruit League and couldn't hit Pee Wee Herman's weight in the bigs, I'd be richer than anybody with a similar bet about steroid references to Giambi, the incredibly shrinking ballplayer, Bonds and Canseco combined.

Trouble is, Giambi was a good hitter long before BALCO came along. If he gets back to anything like his pre-steroid, pre-parasite, pre-whateverthehey form, he should have a very decent season. His bat did look quick last night, as even the Sox announcers were forced to admit.
