The Bosox aren't giving this jersey to a President John F. Kerry; all IS right in the world.

While I'm sure Curt Schilling enjoyed the visit, if Red Sox owners Tom Werner and John Henry had their way, they would have been presenting a No. 44 jersey with Kerry's name on it to the new president at the White Hoose on Wednesday. That may not make them part of the evil empire, but they are part of the politically clueless one.

There are lots of unpleasant things one does if he wants to modernize a baseball stadium in a one-party town, where that one party has all the devotion to civil liberties of Josef Stalin.

That may be true about Henry, Bart, but not Werner. He was supporting Kerry types on the West Coast when he was owner of the San Diego Padres (and of course he was also the producer of the "Roseanne" show and thought it would be a great idea to let Ms. Barr croak the National Anthem. Worst idea since Disco Night at Cominskey Park...)
